Cedar Cold Plunge
A compact deep cedar tub built for cold therapy. Handcrafted from Pacific Northwest cedar, sized for a single-person plunge in any room or garden.
Built for the Cold
Our cedar cold plunge tubs are compact, deep soaking baths handcrafted in Eugene, Oregon. Inspired by traditional Japanese deep-soaking design and built for modern cold therapy, they feature natural wood interiors and are designed for drain-and-fill or recirculating use.
At 27" deep in a 32"–36" square footprint, they provide full chest-deep immersion in a seated position — ideal for cold therapy, recovery, and contrast bathing. Suitable for indoor wet rooms, recovery rooms, garages, or outdoor garden installations.
Like our cedar ofuros, the cold plunge uses traditional cedar joinery and a natural unsealed wood interior — no chemicals required for drain-and-fill use. Pair with a chiller and our optional lid for continuous use.

Frequently Asked
Cedar is naturally rot-resistant, dimensionally stable through repeated wet/dry cycles, and beautiful enough to live anywhere in your home. Plastic tubs and stock tanks work, but they don't belong in a finished space. A cedar cold plunge is something you're happy to see every day.
The cold plunge is smaller — a 32"–36" square footprint vs. the ofuro's 28–32" × 46–52" rectangle — and sized for cold-water use. Same construction, same cedar options, same drain-and-fill design. The ofuro is built for hot soaking with room to stretch out; the cold plunge is built for short, intense cold immersion in a compact footprint.
Yes. The tub can be plumbed to work with an external chiller, filter, and ozone system for continuous-use setups. We can add inlet/outlet fittings during fabrication — just let us know during the design consultation.
Yes. Cedar performs beautifully in both environments. Outdoor tubs develop a natural silver-grey patina over time, or maintain original color with periodic wood oil application. Drain completely after each use in freezing weather to prevent ice damage.
Three common approaches: fill from your cold tap (groundwater is often 50–60°F in many regions), add ice from your freezer for a colder plunge, or pair the tub with a dedicated chiller for set-and-forget temperature control.
Typically yes. The exterior footprint is approximately 35–39" square, which fits through most standard doorways. The empty tub weighs about 180 lbs and can be moved by two people. Contact us if you have narrow doorways or access concerns.
Minimal. For drain-and-fill use: drain after each session, rinse if desired, allow to air dry. No chemicals or sealants needed. For chiller-based recirculating use: follow the chiller manufacturer's water-quality and filter-change schedule. Outdoor tubs weather naturally or can be maintained with wood oil.
- Port Orford Cedar — Premium option, tightest grain, most aromatic, highest durability
- Western Red Cedar — Classic choice, beautiful grain, excellent moisture resistance
- Select Tight Knot — Economical, rustic character, same construction
All options use traditional cedar joinery techniques combined with marine epoxy resin for lasting durability. We're happy to discuss which wood is best for your project.

What Our Clients Say
Most importantly, our soaking tub is amazing. It's beautiful and provides the most relaxing, therapeutic experience. But I cannot undervalue the dedication of Tyler and everyone else. They maintained open communication and worked with us throughout the process.
These soaking tubs are works of art and ingenuity. I am so happy to have an outdoor tub without needing chemicals, and I can heat the water 'off grid'. Great communications and customer service too!
